The Enterprise Integrator is a fantastic development tool that gives you the ability to extend and customize the XA application. Like any tool there are best practices when using the tools. In this session we will discuss how to:

• Create pleasing and productive user interfaces
• Develop integrator objects that are easily maintained
• Insure that what you build guarantees data integrity

Enterprise Integrator is a tool that should be used to enhance XA to reinforce your company’s business processes. Let’s discuss how to best achieve this goal.

Whether you are an I.T. Programmer/Developer or not, you should be aware of the useful functions that Enterprise Integrator offers – without doing any programming! Many organizations have talented technical or data-savvy individuals that are not computer programmers by trade, but could enhance their systems to benefit themselves, other users, and their company. Come and hear how your organization can benefit from the built-in functions you already own in Enterprise Integrator!

In this session, we will:

• Explain what Enterprise Integrator is, and what it can do.
• Discuss the skills required to use Enterprise Integrator.
• Demonstrate how to get started using Enterprise Integrator.
• Review several, useful features in Enterprise Integrator you can use with no programming.

Send emails, text, host program call, or System-Link requests when an event such as a discontinued item runs out of inventory, a customer ship-to is changed, a dock date on a PO line item is pushed back . . . and more. Triggers can be on create, change or delete and specified using subsets. This session will help you:

• Understand what Publish & Subscribe is.
• Understand how to set up a basic P&S notice.
• Understand the business benefits to using P&S.

Subscriptions are not just email notifications. While subscriptions work great for email, you can do so much more. You can send text messages to your phone. You can call host programs, too. But the coolest thing you can do with subscriptions is to run system link requests. And NO RPG programming.

This session will show you how to create a template, copy and paste the system link request. You can even use substitution attributes within your request. As an added bonus, you will learn how to use notification history to check the status of your request, and debug the system link request.

New to Enterprise Integrator? This session will help you get over those first basic hurdles. From the initial technical overview to basic best practices, and sources of information, this session will speed you on your way to mastering this powerful tool.

Have a need to manage data and want to take advantage of what you already have in XA? Same here. That’s why we created our own Business Objects! Join us for a tour on CPI Aero’s Engineering Change Notice (ECN). We will see how to use Enterprise Integrator to create:

• our own tables to capture data
• business objects to allow users to interact with these tables
• relationships between the new BOD and existing BODs
• publish & subscribe notifications to keep everyone in the loop

Concepts discussed can be applied to any business.

System-Link is Infor’s way to communicate with XA. By using System-Link to retrieve and update information, you insure that data is protected from improper access and integrity issues. This session will introduce you to what System-Link is and how to access it. It finishes up with a hands-on exercise creating a sample System-Link request. After this session, you will:

• Understand what System-Link is
• Know how to access System-Link
• Be able to construct a basic System-Link request

The Data Generation Program in Enterprise Integrator allows the user to create real time data on the fly. Data can be accessed, calculated, and displayed from any means possible from an IBM i program. This session will show you how to utilize this feature through example.

This session is geared towards users with basic knowledge of business object creation. The ability to program in an IBM i programming language is not necessary, but would be helpful.

SQL Views can be used to supercharge your Powerlink applications. Enterprise Integrator has extensive capabilities to pull data together, but the presentation of some data may require more complex functionality. This is where SQL Views come in. Geared toward the technical attendee, this session will discuss:

• What is a SQL view?
• Practical and creative uses of SQL views in Integrator and Powerlink
• How to set up SQL views in Enterprise Integrator
• Real-world demonstration of SQL view in use

Whether or not you are comfortable using SQL, attend this session to experience the benefits of learning and using SQL, and specifically SQL views, to enhance your business solutions.

Join Barry-Wehmiller as they present their case study on User Exits. As they moved away from green screen and into the Power-Link applications, they had a requirement to provide a purchase receipt transaction and IP (Planned Manufacturing Issue) transaction within the standard XA Scheduled Receipts. Enterprise Integrator allowed them to modify the client user exits as they developed a process flow and new functionality utilizing the longstanding and innovative technologies within Power-Link.

Recommended for Intermediate users, this session will address these objectives:

• Show how Enterprise Integrator User Exits made this development very easy to engrain within a XA Power-Link application.
• Show how it replaced an old green screen product while receiving PO’s and issuing to an MO.
• How it saves time (for the development team and end users).

System-Link has been available for many years but not everyone knows the ways it can simplify your life. Join this session to see examples of how System-Link is used to handle real-world tasks efficiently. We will share examples using both the RPG and Web Enabled interfaces. Examples covered include linking to third party quality systems, uploading data from Excel into XA and even integrating a PLM system into XA to create Item Revisions, Process, BOM’s and Routings. This session is appropriate for users of all levels and is intended to help you understand how System-Link can simplify your integration projects.

This session will introduce Enterprise Integrator at the 9.2 release. New features and other improvements over the last few releases will be discussed, and give you an opportunity to speak directly to Development. Bring your questions to this session and you will be able to get up the curve on the latest and greatest.

PneumaticScaleAngelus (PSA) is part of Barry-Wehmiller, one of Infor’s largest XA customers including 10 operating divisions and 11,000 team members around the world. PSA sells, designs, manufacturers, and services similar-model machines in both their United States and Italian divisions which aligns with 2 XA environments. These 2 environments, created by the need for different inventory valuation, had over the years become disparate from one another in regards to common items and machine bills of materials. This hindered engineering collaboration due to the bill of material silo effect across environments and service parts sales since the same global item could be sold as a service part but may or may not exist in one environment. A global initiative was created to create an automated replication process that would copy newly created and/or changed items and bills of material back and forth from one environment to another. PSA will save thousands of dollars in direct and indirect labor costs by having these common machine bills and items being housed in both environments in similar form as well as using this application as a springboard for the promotion of standardization across structures and processes.

Audience members having a basic knowledge of EPDM and System Link is helpful, but certainly not required to gain valuable insight from this session. You are encouraged to attend and listen and learn from John while he walks you through his experience with the development of this application. You will walk away with the following insights,

• Learn the different replication strategies available in XA.
• Learn how PSA uses EPDM Alternate Bill of Materials to quarantine replicated bills of material.
• Learn how System Link requests can be constructed dynamically through configuration files.

Asco Industries is situated in the Aerospace industry. This session will show how they deliver certificates via EDI to Airbus for the manufacturing of high lift devices. The source data is entered in PowerLink and a certificate is printed and an EDI file is generated. This Enhancement also uses "User exists" to load default data, do data checking and submit the EDI interface.
